The Snowhite story

When I first saw Jessica's jewels at Whitebox Praxitelous, I totally fell in love with them and wanted to use them in a fairytale.
So I found the most suitable model for this concept at VN, she reminded me so much of Snowhite, with her fair skin, blue eyes and dark hair, Renata.
My friend Vicky Petrakou helped me with the styling, Mary Karahaliou did the makeup, all the clothes and jewels are by Jessica and since many have asked me where did I shot this, it is actually my bedroom ;)

It's been sooo long, I know, I haven't posted since November [wow, that's too much time].
I have been so lazy about my blog I admit it!
But now spring has come, I felt like decorating and since I love changes... I'm back :) ...for now...
There are so many new works I haven't shared on my blog, so it is better to start from scratch [from now on] otherwise this post will be endless and today I only wanted to share my redecorations :)

Ανάμεσα στις ηλιόλουστες μέρες αυτής της εποχής εμείς διαλέξαμε χθες μέσα στην καταποντή και την καταχνιά να κάνουμε τη φωτογράφηση για το νέο θεατρικό Ohhh La La που ξεκινά στις 28 Νοεμβρίου στο Swing στο Γκάζι.
'Οταν όμως υπάρχει θετική ενέργεια, καλή διάθεση και καλή παρέα, όλα λύνονται κι όχι απλά λύνονται αλλά περνάς και ΚΑΤΑΠΛΗΚΤΙΚΑ!!!

Σας παρουσιάζω τους συντελεστές της παράστασης... όπως ΔΕΝ θα τους ξαναδείτε ποτέ!!! (βρεγμένους...) :)))

Backstage - Ourania - Marina - Monica

A week ago I managed to injure my leg at the gym and for all this week I was lying on a couch waiting for this @#*$#+| muscle of mine to be good again [it's not... yet].
Yesterday morning I did the experiment... I can't walk but I can shoot... ! Oh yes!!! Don't ask me how but I did it and I loved it ;)
I guess I couldn't stay away from my camera too long and here is some backstage for you and a little preview at the end of the post.
It was a ladies only shooting

Monica was in fashion mood even for backstage and while holding the pins [this girl is absolutely adorable!!!]

We had an uninvited guest which I wanted to take home with me [but he run when I approached]

Marina is always this happy when a shooting is done [ wondering why???]

This is a little preview of what we did. You'll see more when I manage to find a comfortable place for my leg while retouching...

As for tomorrow I think I'll tell you what fashion friends do when are at home ;)

Shooting in the rain

Do you remember this? All time favorite...

Well I'm not singing but surely shooting in the rain...

Yesterday with Mike [gorgeous!], Dimitris Strepkos, and Danae Tselou we realy splashed. It was extremely wonderful to feel the rain on my skin and if I wasn't afraid about Beba [my camera] I would stay under the rain.
Instead we sheltered in an abandoned house [ready to collapse]

I loved it!

And here we are :)

After an exact year [today] without flying I can say that life on earth is beautiful too ;)

I met her about 15 days ago @ Starbucks [where else... a coffeeholic like me], Dimitris Strepkos introduced her to me. She came all smiley and full of positive energy along with her gorgeous Gofretta.
Talented, artistic, but also a great person to hang out with. That's Ourania Kay.
Yesterday we worked together for the first time, her clothes? You'll love them on AXDW where she is going to participate in October. I'm already in love with a jacket which you will see in some days, when the photos will be ready.
For now I have some backstage treasures for you.
First of all my beloved Marina Koutsoumpa [makeup artist] who had her birthday yesterday...

She turned 12... ;)

The gorgeous model from VN [thanks to Vasso Bania] was Haley from Florida US [you'll see her when times comes] - lovely, adorable freckles all over her body and face!

No introduction needed! My boy is surfing, playing, fooling around. But also a fanatic workaholic!

And that's me [by Ourania Kay] after the shooting wearing my new, lovable, adorable, great, wonderful, gorgeous [yes, I LOVE THEM] sunglasses.

It was a great summer - still is..., as I'm still everyday on the beach [thanks God I live nearby], I still feel summery and I'm still black ;)
But work must go on! New season's resolutions have to start happening.
I'll start with some memories of places from this summer and we'll move on

And now Athens 2010 - started shapping up with the BEST personal trainer in town, Nikos Sigalas, the one and only :) [here with my friend Dimitris Strepkos - Celebrity Skin]

who put me on a strict diet [and no I'm not hungry] and work out.

We wanted to express our deepest sorrow for the fires that "happened" and keep "happening" every single year and try to show/share that hope can emerge even from the burnt ashes of a wounded forest.

I love it sometimes to wake up in the early morning, grab my camera and go for a walk.
I'm lucky because I live only 5 minutes from the sea where people take their first morning walk [I don't know where do they find the energy...]

When I'm done ... spying ;) I come back home and get back to bed!

I had some PC problems so everything is a bit behind. Anyway everything is ok now so no harm done!

Some days ago I did my first shooting with Evelina Litina a very promising and creative young designer who won two prices on the 7th AXDW. The best catwalk and best trendsetter.

The photos are still under retouching process but a little... preview is always necessary.

The makeup was done by Marina Koutsoumpa and the hair by Tzako P. The model is Mado from I-M who is this year's Miss Hellas.

I have much more to share... but on a different day.

"Reshaping Shapes" is the latest shooting we did for Giovanna's clothes.
Our model was the gorgeous Sofia Kyriakidou with the endless legs [remember her from "Bare"?] !!!
Marina Koutsoumpa was there as well reshaping our shapes ;)
Dimitris Strepkos passed to say hello and I didn't let him go
And Tzako P. played with Sofia's hair [we didn't let him play too much this time...lol]

Dimitris Strepkos, Katerina Kontogiorgou [ I met her yesterday and I love her for her amazing work, her positive attitude, her big smile and of course for the fact she is a Sagitarious... like me :) ], Tzako P., Chryso
[ a very talented new designer, student of Dimitris, who also had her birthday!!! ] and 2 great models from VN [thank you my Vasso] Christina and Natallia, Christina Skarpeli was there too for backstage photos.

The day I met Giovanna

I've been busy, I know I haven't posted for many days but... here I am now, all safe and sound, with something new to show you, just a preview as the photos are not ready yet.

Sunday morning, center of Athens, a hot day, a beautiful Athens, Plaka amazing as always. This was the day I met Giovanna. Talented, fresh, young, a little shy, beautiful girl.
I LOVED her clothes but most of all I totally fell in love with that BLACK wedding dress. You'll see it in a few days when the photos are ready and you'll see what I mean.
The rest of the team was:
Marina Koutsoumpa in makeup, Tzako P. in hair, Amanda and Marietta the models both @ VN
Babis Tsitouridis helped me a lot for once I had finally an assistant :)))
And of course, Dimitris Strepkos who just can't live without me [ lol ] came to see us and the image of the wedding dress, I mention above, was his!

The editorial we shot on Sunday with Celebrity Skin's new collection "Cemeterial Purity" which is surprisingly... white!
White is not just a color for me... it is a way of living, a way of thinking, an inspiration, life itself is white!
So imagine how happy I was I could finally work on a totally white project.
And I can truly say that this is my favourite work so far... which I couldn't have done without an excellent team:

Katerina was late, poor girl she was helplesly [ is this spelled right??? I think I forgot a letter ;) ] stuck by Athens tremendous traffic which was worst due to the strike.
I love her anyway so no problem!

Four coffees later the fun part started :)

We all had an early morning appointment, we had to finish by 13.00 because Taryn [the model in the shooting] had to rush to another work.
3 cars heading to Anavissos where my daughter's house is. We used her kitchen as a starting point for hair and makeup and then went in the nearby woods followed by, an all jumpy from happiness and curiosity, Gandor [our wonderful dog].
The weather was great, I just LOVE spring time...
Done hair, makeup and shooting in 2.30 hours and the conclusion was as if from a fairytale.
"Isolate" story is still in retouching process but I couldn't resist on showing you a little preview...

Well, I know I love their work, I know I love them as friends, the one thing I didn't know was that I was going to be so moved by what I saw.
This was not just another catwalk. These people know how to make you feel it passing all over you.
At least that is what Ι felt. I was thrilled and believe... you me I'm NOT that sensible!!!
Dimitris Strepkos and Eleni Mparla, the Celebrity Skin in other words, made the night special.
Everything was organised and carefully prepared to the smallest detail. From the gifts we found on our seats as we entered, the amazing photoshoot by Christos Karantzolas, the atmospheric music, the hair, the makeup, the walk, the CLOTHES, oh my GOD those gawns...!!!!
The feeling of it all, unfortunately it cannot pass to you through the photos I'm going to show you.

The shooting took place at "In Berlin" hairstudio, a place I totally love!!!

The story was shot for e-merge mag "Time" issue which will be online tomorrow [ or late tonight ].

When a shooting goes well you just know it from the moment you open your eyes in the morning. At least that's what happens with me. Usually my dreams on the previous night are related to the day after. Images and concepts. I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night and write down what I saw.

What a day !!!

I;m glad it is over. I usually consider number 13 as a lucky one but today? It was like somebody was fooling me around.
First my cell phone as I was cleaning my terrace and speaking to the cell phone at the same time, I dropped it in a bucket of water and ... it bubbled.
Then my car. I went for coffee with friends down at the beach, when I tried to start it up and return home/// the battery was dead, completely!
And now what? no car, no cell phone...
What a day...
I better get some sleep

I don't know about you but I love backstage photos, more than the actual ones [well, not exactly more, but they make me laugh].

There was a great day in the historic center of Athens, the light was amazing and we started at about 13.30. Until 15.00 everything went smooth and well, laughing and working, plus having a good time. At 15.00 just out of nowhere the rain started and .... we runed with all the dresses and shoes, and makeup luggage and my stuff.

Fortunately we found shelter in a nearby beautiful tavern, in front of the fireplace and ordered something to eat. In half an hour the rain had stopped, the sun was out again and the light was even better!

Conclusion, when your team is good, when these people are also your friends and when they are truly professionals nothing can go wrong, even when it rains...

E-MergeMag is about to be born.
The first issue is going to be called zero and it's all about fashion.
A fresh, experimental view of the new decade’s fashion trends. It is only going to be online, this way aims to a larger range of fashion related people around the world! Not to mention the huge avoid of costs and paper use for ecological reasons.
I'm happy to be part of it and contributing from its first steps.

So many things going around here I haven't had the time not even to sleep. ThetaMag's work is driving me crazy these days. I had to finish retouching the editorial, translate an article about the Great Coco, shoot the reportage and other crazy stuff. It has to be printed in a week so...

The good thing is that I finally finished today, the only thing I can show you right now is a little sneak preview of the editorial "Misplaced Childhood in the Woods"

For this editorial we have worked with Dimitris Strepkos on styling and Eleni Mparla as assistant stylist, Danai Tselou as MUA and hair..

Fridays can be sweet

Υπάρχουν στιγμές που θέλουμε να μιλήσουμε, να εκτεθούμε, να δείξουμε τα συναισθήματα μας, μα ο καθωσπρεπισμός και ο εγωισμός μας τις περισσοτέρες φορές μας σταματούν.Κι αναρωτιέμαι... αξίζει τον κόπο? Αξίζει από εγωισμό να χάσουμε ανθρώπους απο δίπλα μας που ίσως, λέω ίσως, αν ήξεραν το πώς αισθανόμαστε να διάλεγαν να μείνουν κοντά μας?
Και απαντώ στον εαυτό μου, όχι δεν αξίζει...
Κι όμως εκεί εμφανίζεται ο φόβος της απόρριψης. Κι αν ανοίξουμε στον άλλο την ψυχή μας κι αυτός απλά μας ευχαριστήσει γλυκά μα δεν ενδιαφερθεί?
Τελικά γιατί ανοίγουμε την ψυχή μας? Για τον άλλον ή γιατί το χρειαζόμαστε εμείς? Για να μάθει ο άλλος ή γιατί εμείς θα εκραγούμε πια αν δε μιλήσουμε?
Ναι στον εαυτό μου αναφέρομαι. Θα εκραγώ αν δε μιλήσω, είμαι όμως έτοιμη να πληρώσω το όποιο τίμημα αυτού του ανοίγματος? Είμαι έτοιμη για μια απόρριψη, για καμία ίσως ανταπόκριση, ή ακόμα και για μια αποδοχή? Είμαι? Εσύ είσαι?
Τελικά τι είναι αυτό που μας κρατάει μακριά από τον άλλο? Το υποτιθέμενο όχι του? Τόσο απλά? Και τι έγινε?

The show yesterday was great! No photos yet because I refused to bring my camera. I was with friends and had my daughter with me as well [her first catwalk experience :)] so I decided to go for fun ONLY! I will post some video and photos in a few days taken by friends.
Dusanka was amazing. She won "Best Catwalk Prize" and I'm so proud of her.
All in all it was a great evening filled with beauty, fashion, music and FUN most of all.
